Wake Up With Yoga, Go to Bed Happy

Today was day #6 of doing yoga.
I've been doing yoga every morning outside and I must say it feels great!

My doctor highly recommended yoga to ease the pain of fibromyalgia. The stretching is very important the the benefits of relieving stress is a plus. At first yoga and all the poses seemed complicated and overwhelming but I quickly learned it isn't. By simply breaking down poses and finding easy routines on YouTube, I built up my confidence. I'm not doing fancy handstands or sweat producing flows... just easy, mindful movements.

I love doing yoga outside. Living in the woods has a calming meditative effect. Being on my deck in the woods connects me to nature. On a rainy day, I was on my front porch.

Maggie hasn't tried yoga yet, but hovers close by.

My hour long morning routine includes:
doing 15 minutes of yoga (I do the video plus some poses I like from a night time video)
eat breakfast with coffee or tea
write in my diet journal or write list of things I want to accomplish that day
sometimes I jump in the pool for a quick workout, sometimes doing more yoga in the water
fill the feeding stations (bird feeders) and take my dog for a walk

I find doing morning yoga has increased my energy level. I'm ready to face the day! It certainly has reduced my stress level and I've improved how I handle stress. I've found it helps me focus on the day. While doing yoga, I focus on the moment; my breathing, the music, the sounds of nature. When I sit down at breakfast I easily make a to-do list for the day which keeps my focused on tasks all day. (I'm easily distracted and often overwhelmed with daily activities.)

The one thing I've noticed is how my sleep has improved, I feel rested when I wake. I'm happier all day, able to take on the cantankerous moods of my guys and have energy for my honey at night.

Yoga doesn't have to be done along either; have your honey join you. It can be good for your relationship and sex life. Check out this article regarding Poses for Building Intimacy and Trust. Here is a great article from Yoga Journal regarding The Truth About Yoga and Sex.  I told you, I like that Yoga Journal group! If you're feeling adventurous, check local listing of yoga studios near you for classes and special events.

My favorite videos include a morning one by Sarah Beth. Check out her You Tube channel for more info. She suffers from an autoimmune disease so she's sensitive to needs of those challenged. My morning choice is 10 Minute Morning Yoga for Beginners.

My favorite night relaxing yoga video comes from Yoga Journal. I like the 15 Minute Relaxing Practice with Jason Crandell. It's so good, sometimes I almost fall asleep on the floor!

I like the way I feel and I'm hoping to continue my journey with yoga.

Do you do yoga?

What is your morning routine?

Enjoy a Sweet Sunset

Every summer until I was around 12, my family would travel to Paw Paw to visit St. Julian Winery. The tour was pretty much the same but just as fun. My parents would purchase cases of wine after what felt like hours of wine tasting. We would then drive over to South Haven, find a spot on the beach for a picnic and swim until late afternoon. We continued this tradition for several years after my siblings married and started having kids. With a caravan of cars, I had my pick of who I wanted to travel with.
Great memories.

St. Julian has a tasting room in Frankenmuth so I don't have to travel as far as my parents.

I found a delightfully sweet red wine by mistake. I fell in love with the label. Isn't it gorgeous?

Sunset Michcato is top of my list for a light sweet red.

This succulently sweet red blend is made from grapes grown in the Lake Michigan Shore Appellation. It was released in May, 2017 to celebrate Michigan Wine Month and was part of the Pure Michigan summer 2017 campaign. The goal of the winemaker was to create a wine that embraced everything Michigan. Michigan grown grapes, Michigan-proud label, and expected to be enjoyed on a beach in Michigan at sunset.

If you enjoy sweet wines, I recommend you try this one.
It pairs nicely with cheese & crackers.
Take it outside and enjoy a sunset this weekend with your honey.

St. Julian also makes a Sunset Michcato White.

Benefits of Waking Early #Healthy #Romance

Starting the day early can be good for your health and relationship.

POSITIVE OUTLOOK

Greet the day. Maybe make a ritual of positive thinking or being thankful for your blessings. Or simply give your honey a kiss. Let your heart feel light. Don't lay in bed for long, get out and get started.

Enjoy the peace. The quietude of the morning is good for the soul. Use the time to breathe, mentally and physically.  Grab a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the sunrise. If you've missed the sunrise then take in the wonderful colors of the morning. Use your senses to smell, feel and even taste the day. These are little things often overlooked in our busy lives.

MORE ORGANIZED

Use the quiet of the morning for thinking and organizing. Plan your day. If you are with your honey, discuss plans for the day. Decide on meals and activities. Use a few moments to share a memory of love...maybe something you did together on a similar morning... a memory of why you fell in love. Dream a little... talk about future plans, trips, etc.

HEALTHY

The morning is a perfect time for mediation, yoga, and any form of exercise. Breathing deeply increases oxygen in your body and is good for the brain. Morning stretches helps improve flexibility all day. Take the dog for a stroll with your honey. Go to the gym together. Morning cardio is great for the heart.
Prepare a healthy breakfast and enjoy the meal together on the patio.

ROMANCE

Quiet time in the morning is perfect for soft kisses, flirty smiles and lots of eye contact. Have a laugh over crazy hair. Laughter is important in a relationship and giggles in the morning makes the heart light all day. Touching is important, so start the day off right with lots of it.
And... if you have time, enjoy a little morning lovin'.

Thursday Thirteen - 13 Tips for a Romantic Bath

  1. Rose Petals
  2. One of the most common symbols for romance, the rose is not only a beautiful addition to your bath water and/or bath area it is delightfully fragrant as well.
  3. Bubble Bath
Bubble bath comes in so many varieties it can be hard to choose the right one. If you know your partner has a special favorite, use that one. If not, try something a little creative like bubble bath in a champagne bottle.
  4. Mood Music
Initiate a romantic environment with a little calm and relaxing mood music. Many stores offer nature or mood themed music. Pick out a CD that will help you create the exact mood you desire.
  5. Candlelight
Restore that healthy glow with a liberal sprinkling of candlelight. Tea lights are easy to use, make little mess and are easy to throw away once cooled. Don't place candles where you may splash water on them.
  6. Bath Loofah or Accessories
Why not give each other the ultimate bath and spa experience with a little skin pampering?
Go shopping together and pick out a few fun bath products in a scent you both love
  7.  Skin Care  Take care of each others' skin and try new exfoliants or other skin improving products.

7.     Hair Care Give each other a complete hair washing, including combing out their hair during the conditioning process

8.     Champagne
Celebrate your time together with a romantic toast. Use this couple time to renew promises or vows with each other. Or, just revel in actually having couple time.
  1. Try a fun, sensual bath game.
  2. Warm, Fluffy Towels
Put your towels in the dryer for a few minutes for a warm and toasty after-bath treat.
Take turns drying each other off for a more intimate experience.
  3. Mood Inviting Bath Soak
Bath soaks are usually a blend of ingredients you add to your bath water to create a desired effect, such as a sore muscle soak, stress-easing soak or relaxation soak. Most bath and body and drug stores carry bath soak products.
  4. Privacy
A romantic moment is easily ruined with unwanted disruptions. Arrange your water play encounter at a time when you can be together alone. A great way to do this and create the perfect memorable night is staying at hotel with a spa or Jacuzzi tub in your room.
  5. Shower Power When you don't have time to take a nice bubble bath with your partner, opt for a nice, hot, candlelit shower with incense and music. This is wonderful for mornings because it refreshes the mind for the day.
Massage  Don't let the romance stop after the bath. Give each other a light, lotion-laden massage.

#ThursdayThirteen - Sensual Touch

Something as simple as a touch can arouse a person. Unfortunately in today’s world the act of slow, sensitive, exploring touches is often forgotten when it comes to romance and love making. Humans from early on are affected and nurtured through touching. As adults, we still crave to touch and be touched; an act relevant to initiate us into the mysteries of sex. Touching each other is a form of communication showing trust, love, desire, as well as an opportunity to learn about each other.

Here is a list of 13 erogenous zones that are most likely to provoke sensual responses.

1. Scalp and Hair. The scalp is very sensitive to touch and who doesn’t enjoy having someone run fingers through their hair?
2. Ears and Neck.
Possibly amount the most sensitive parts of the body. Being stroked, nibbled, or licked or even feeling a lover’s hot breath in this area can be very arousing.

3. The Waist. Not often thought of as an erogenous zone, but a bit of kissing, licking, squeezing, and stroking can have an erotic effect. Personally, I like to feel my honey’s hands on my waist. Try it.
4. The Torso. The sides of the torso can be surprisingly responsive to touch, especially light brushing of fingertips or gentle nibbling.
5.The Spine. Very sensitive area you may need to discuss with your partner to see what is preferred. Try a warm touch with lotion or a cold touch with an ice cube.

6.The Chest. Although not as sensitive as the breasts, try light, teasing strokes and slow lingering caresses to create a pleasurable sensual touch.
7. Breasts. Duh. But did you know a man’s nipples are actually more sensitive than a woman’s? .

8.The Thighs. The inside of the thighs is highly sensitive. The closer the touch is to the groin, the more exquisite and arousing will be the sensations.
9.The Backs of the Legs. The hollows at the backs of the knees are especially sensitive to touch; try soft touches with fingertips or gentle kisses.
10.The Butt. I love a tight ass. Hmm… there are numerous ways of touching the butt. Try ranging from feather light caresses to squeezing and even spanking.

11.The Face. Yes, cheeks and lips but try placing a kiss on the eyelids. Hmmm…. Feels great giving and receiving.
12.The Neck and Throat.
This area responds wonderfully to gentle kisses and delicate fingertip caresses.

13.The Feet. Another area you may need to discuss with your partner. While some people enjoy feet others may be turned off by them. This area is very sensitive to touch from the tips of the toes to the ankle. A foot massage is a great form of relaxing as well.

What is your favorite erogenous zone and how do you like to be touched?

#FetishFriday - Handcuffs & Silk

Handcuffs are an important accessory for a cop costume but also can be a lot of fun in the bedroom. Keep in mind, handcuffs used in sex play are made to be comfortable and safe so don’t borrow your buddy’s police issue. Having restricted movement will intensify the senses and make for very sensual loving.

A recent study found that men who engage in bondage say they feel less sad, nervous or hopeless than men do generally. They're not markedly different from other men-bondage may be just a way "to express their heightened interest in sex and sexual permissiveness," says Richard O de Visser, PhD, author of the study in the Journal of Sexual Medicine. "It's simply a sexual interest that's attractive to a minority, and not indicative of past abuse or difficulty with 'normal' sex," Visser says.

Thursday 13 - Reasons to Smile

Smiling Makes Us Feel Good
"Studies have shown that smiling releases endorphins, natural painkillers, and serotonin. Together these three neurotransmitters make us feel good from head to toe. Not only do these natural chemicals elevate your mood, but they also relax your body and reduce physical pain." - The Very Well Mind by Mark Stibich, PhD

I have to agree with the good doctor. Smiling is wonderful. So why do we smile?

1. To show you’re happy.

2. Like yawns, smiles are contagious.

3. To do a simple act of kindness.

4. Because you are wearing a new shade of lipstick. (After all, a girl cannot have too many shades of lipstick.)

5. You feel confident knowing your best girlfriend will tell you if you have something stuck in your teeth.

6. Because that piece of chocolate cheesecake was amazing.

7. You love the sensation of those new panties against your skin.

8. You feel joy in your heart and love energizes you.
(Or was that an over-sized pink bunny that just went by?)

9. If you smile enough, you’ll start to believe your face.

10. You just took a deep breath and realized life is grand.

11. Because happiness is the result of being too busy to be miserable.

12. It takes fewer muscles to smile than frown.

13. My favorite reason: Always smile… because others will think you are up to something. And maybe you are.

What makes you smile?

Fetish Friday - Gotta Have Those Shoes!

Do you and your honey like to role play? How about "Shoe Salesman"?
Have you ever bought a sexy pair of shoes?

A 19th Century opera started the tradition of a man drinking champagne out of the brides shoe. In 2009, a shoe manufacture made a glass shoe just for this purpose.

Sigmund Freud considered the foot binding practiced by the Chinese as a form of fetishism. Qing Dynasty sex manuals listed 48 different ways of playing with women's bound feet.

The movie There's Something About Mary featured a former boyfriend of Mary with a shoe fetish. He tried to steal her shoes.

In the animated comedy show Family Guy the character Glenn Quagmire has a foot and shoe fetish, among other fetishes.

In Lady Gaga's music video "Paparazzi (explicit version)" by Johnas Akerlund there is a scene in which a man is licking the singer's black high heeled pump.

****************
FACT: According to psychologists, the shoe and the foot are the most common sources of sexual fetishism in Western society.

Hmm... come on ladies... we get pedicures, paint out toe nails, wear toe rings, and slide our feet into six inch heeled shoes... we know we like it.
Besides, foot rubs are divine!

#WeekendRomance #Food&Wine

I love chocolate (the darker, the better).
I love cherries and I love wine.

On a whim, I bought a bottle of Cocobon Wine. I liked the description on the lable.
Experience Cocobon, a harmonious blend that tantalizes the senses and transports you along a spell-binding journey to Nirvana. Become immersed in deep crimson tones that deliver decadent aroma and flavor, from dark cherry to rich vanilla, mocha and cocoa.
Oh the lable wasn't kidding!  This beverage is an orgasm for the tounge.
When inhaling the arroma, the scent was sharp but sublte with only the faintest hint of berries.  The smell carries dark raspberries with vanilla and the flavor is even better. At first you taste a rich full flavor of red fruits. The soft, mild tannins were completely overpowered by the luscious flavors of rich vanilla and dark chocolate. This powerful combination then melted into a blueberry finish with just a hint of bite to help the flavor linger on in the mouth. Even after you swallow, the flavors continue to dance on the back of your tongue.
I highly recomend to enjoy this drink slowly for the wonderful experience!
Perhaps the wine is so appealing because it was created by a lady winemaker Georgetta Dane.
It takes a woman to know what a woman really wants in a wine!
She continues her journey at Cocobon, where she harnesses the power of all her senses and creates a Zen-like balance at the intersection of art, science, and soul.

Fun Friday Night with Food

Why go out on Friday night when you can save money and have fun at home. Romance doesn’t need to be frivolous.

Roast marshmallows in the fireplace, drink wine and listen to soft music.

Bake a batch of favorite cookies together. Feed each other warm cookies fresh from the oven.

Have a picnic dinner in the backyard.

Dine by candle light with cloth napkins, tablecloth, fine dinnerware…outdoors.

Tasty Tuesday - MichMash Wine

Many of you know I believe in supporting our Michigan wineries.
I tried a new wine tonight.
MichMash Riesling from Chateau Grand Traverse.

Not bad. Light with crisp fruity initial notes without being too sweet, with a hint of a dry finish. Sweet and tart apples come to mind. If you like a soft fruity wine on the dry side, this one is for you. It would be perfect with cheese or relaxing in a hammock on a summer evening while your honey is grilling dinner.

The average price is $12.99 and can only be purchased in Michigan.
Sorry, online sales will only ship within Michigan.

Visit Chateau Grand Traverse for more info.

Here is a recipe for a perfect pick-me-up during the middle of the week.

Couple Fun – Make a Wish Jar

Flyboy and I enjoying junking together. Using the ads in the paper, we carefully plot out our adventure visiting yard, garages and barns. We find all sorts of treasures. I love to collect jars... clear, glass jars to display candies and cookies. I found a unique and fun idea using jars.

Couples often look for ways to entice a partner to expand his or her perspectives on the possibilities in or even out of the bedroom. Often planning a special romantic evening as a surprise for your honey often doesn’t go as arranged. Kids, pets, families, work… so many things may interrupt. It would be much easier to plan something with your partner rather than planning a surprise.

Keep two “wish” jars in the kitchen, one for each or you. Next to them keep a stack of index cards. Whenever something comes to mind that would be fun to do together, it gets written down on an index card and dropped into the appropriate jar.

Create a ritual for the “big drawing”. At the beginning of each month, sit down at the end of the day with a glass of wine and some cheese. Pick five cards at random from each other’s jar. Read them over, talk about them and maybe even negotiate a bit.  The only rule is you have to agree on two activities to be done during the next month.

Start your jar today for some fun!

Tasty Tuesday - A Man Who Cooks Is Sexy

My honey loves to cook. He is the master of the grill and smoker. He’s even amazing at cooking over the bonfire! BBQ ribs over the fire pit…yum! Smoked pulled pork is a favorite. Steak off the grill with a creamy mushroom sauce is mouthwatering. I’m a sucker for his foodie skills. Hey, I admit I’m totally turned on by a man cooking for me!

Even with three boys, we’ve managed to have a bit of romance while cooking together. The boys enjoy cooking with us but often “gross out” and tell us “that’s weird” when we get a little shmexy.
Visit the grocery or farmers’ market together and plan the meal together. Farmers’ Markets are our favorite. The boys taste test and purchase item they want to consume and not share with each other while hubby and I hold hands, strolling along.

Prepare an appetizer to nibble on while cooking the main meal. Feed small slices of cheese, sausage and fruit to each other. I enjoy the classic eye rolls when I tell my honey how much I like his (smoked) sausage. Enjoy a cocktail or fresh lemonade.

My sons are growing up in an environment where we all help with meal prep. College boy often phones his dad while he’s grilling at the frat house. High school boy is simply hungry all the time and grazes often. Middle school boy is adventurous and has begun cooking small things.

After a wonderful home-cooked meal, enjoy some quiet time with dessert or an after-dinner drink. Sit back and enjoy.

As soon as I'm done with my glass of wine I'll let my man know how much I appreciate his cooking skills. Now where is that chocolate sauce?

Tasty Tuesday - Take-Out

If the weather is yucky or you simply don’t want to leave the house but still want to have “date night”, a romantic evening can still happen. If you’re like me, there will be a handful of take-out menus stuffed into a drawer or phone book. This is the time when those come in handy. Order from a favorite restaurant; pick it up or have it delivered.

While waiting for the food, create a romantic spot to eat. Spread a blanket on the floor in front of the fireplace. Clear off the coffee table and add a candle, then pop in a romantic comedy. If weather isn’t a problem, add a tablecloth to your picnic table and light several candles.

When the take-out or delivery food arrives, pop open a bottle of wine or your favorite beverage. Take a moment to feed each other. Try to avoid heavy discussions such as money, schedules, or work. Relax and have fun and enjoy each other. Add a fun dessert such as strawberries dipped in chocolate and whipped cream you make together.

Tasty Tuesday - Food For Sex

Now who would have thought that something as simple as food could increase or decrease the benefits of sex?

For him: What foods get the male blood flow going?
Some great antioxidants to try out are any type of berries including: blueberries, raspberries and cranberries, as well as broccoli, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes.  Helps to deliver oxygen to the blood therefore the higher the level of nitric oxide the better the overall blood flow.
Scents of Cinnamon Buns, Pumpkin Pie, Doughnuts, and Black Licorice: Scents for men have the ability to rev their engines.  Cinnamon buns ranked number one for activating the sexual senses in a male.

For her: What foods get the female hormones going?

The 3 C’s - Caffeine, Calcium, and Chocolate:

Caffeine: Even a small caffeine buzz can help increase blood flow to the genitals, making nerve endings easy to access and stimulate.

Calcium: is also known to increase blood flow in the body especially for women.

Chocolate: this sweet has a ton of chemicals that can help lighten your mood – including anadamine, and phenylethylamine, which help produce an amazing euphoric feeling.

For a bonus, ladies, add Cranberry Juice to your must have list.  Cranberry Juice is a life saver can really help keep your sex life safe. Twenty percent of women suffer from urinary tract infections in the world today. Urinary tract infections are caused by bacteria from sex being pushed up into the bladder, and can further cause kidney infections. You can rid yourself of this risk though, by drinking half a cup of (unsweetened) cranberry juice each day. Researchers have proven that cranberry juice can help prevent the risk of urinary tract infections by thirty four percent.

For Both: What foods get both men and women going?

Egg Mcmuffin: A bacon and egg Mcmuffin may seem like a very unhealthy meal choice, but for sex this food combination is very beneficial. It contains zinc which helps keep the woman lubricated and the ingredient that the man needs to produce semen. It also contains a B vitamin that helps trigger explosive sneezes and orgasms.

Ants on a Log (Celery, Peanut Butter, and Raisins): This is a great snack for both sexes.

Celery is packed with androstenone and androstenol; two pheromones that can help men attract women like the plague. Every time you crunch on celery these odor molecules are released that help to boost arousal.

Peanut butter, containing nuts with mono-unsaturated fats, are a well known source of arginine – an amino acid that helps produce blood flow. Men that eat healthy fat found in nuts are also known to have high amounts of testosterone.

Raisins are packed with lignans, which are phytoestrogens that balance women’s hormone levels. They are also a source of antioxidant which helps increase blood flow down below
