Super Cheap St. Patty's Day Read

Mimi Cates is an artist who lives over the coffee shop she owns. Content with her life, she won't allow herself to become to close with her sexy, wanderlust neighbor, despite what her heart tells her.

Irishman, Robbie Mac Donnell never wanted to stay in one place very long. His job as a scientist allowed him to travel the world without ever making permanent ties to anyone. However, when he finds the perfect person and the perfect place to settle down, he's not sure if she'll believe him.

Tasty Tuesday - Blueberry Cobbler for Couples

This post is in honor of the Montrose Blueberry Festival that wasn't.
For the first time since it began, The Montrose Blueberry Festival did not happen. All over social media people posted photos and memories of past events. The Montrose Orchard still hosted some small blueberry events and made blueberry sweets. The local ice cream shop still offered blueberry ice cream. I purchased my berries, did you?

August is blueberry season.  Grab your guy and head out to the fields for some ripe, juicy berries waiting for you to pick them.
When you get home, put on a cute apron and invite him to help.

Pour a glass of blueberry wine
while you make this delicious recipe.

EASY PEASY BLUEBERRY COBBLER
Ingredients for 8×8 Square Pan
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup white sugar
Fruit filling of choice - 1 1/2 cartons of blueberries (her favorite is 1 carton of blackberries and 4 peaches, thinly sliced)
1/2 cup melted butter
Cinnamon

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350˚
Spray baking dish
Combine flour and sugar
Spoon 1/2 of the dry ingredients to cover the entire bottom of the dish, keeping the dry mixture loose, not packed
Spoon have the butter over dry ingredients (it will just sit on top)
Add your fruit filling
Combine the remaining dry ingredients and butter to create a dough
Place the dough in cobbles over the fruit
Sprinkle with cinnamon
Bake for 45 minutes
Enjoy warm with ice cream!

I recommend trying blueberry wine.
My favorite is Blueberry Splash from Warner Vineyards in Paw Paw, MI.

Fancy Pants - A Lesson on Panties

What's the first thing you put on when you dress?
Ever give it any thought?
What you wear under your clothes should make you feel good, happy, maybe even sexy.

Origins of underwear date back to 4500 BC in Egypt. However, origins of women's underwear are not exactly known but is estimated to have begun around the 18th century. Pant-like garments were documented being worn during the Renaissance  and then the French put their spin on design to make them more appealing. Softer material, ribbons and lace made for lovely panties. As dress lengths shortened so did the legs of the under garment. By the 1902's the design became more of what we know today.

In 1949 an American tennis player named Gertrude Moran or Gussie Moran (1923-2013) caused a sensation when she appeared at Wimbledon wearing frilly panties. She was known as Gorgeous Gussie and it was very daring in 1949! Pantyhose was invented in 1959. - A BRIEF HISTORY OF PANTIES By Tim Lambert

By the 1960's panties became a part of the fashion world with disposable panties. bikini briefs, and thongs. Panties are available in a wide range of material and design.

Skivvies, Knickers, Panties, Underwear... whatever they are called should fit comfortably and not be distracting. But who says they have to be boring? Just because they are "sensible" doesn't mean they need to be "granny panties".

Shopping for pretty panties can be classified as quality ME TIME. #1 rule is to always pick something that fits your body shape. Here's a nice video that explains how to do it.

Pick panties that are an expression of you. Flowers, ribbons and silly prints to reveal your girlish charm. Bold patterns and bright colors to shout you are a girl who likes to laugh. Soft cotton, bright colors, sparkles?

Select something that speaks to and makes you feel sexy when you are striping them off.

For more magic, buy a simple style and decorate them yourself with ribbons, lace or sparkles.

NEW RELEASE - The Trouble With Bree by Kristen Strassel

Kristen Strassel is one of my fav NA authors. Toss contemporary romance with some paranormal and add a dash of rock-n-roll is her usual recipe for an amazing book. This year she is releasing two new stories. The first is a novella about a young mother who is lucky to find the right guy releases TODAY!
The trouble with Bree is...
Bree Farrell is ready to turn her life around. A twenty-one-year-old mother of two, she's not sure where to start. She could use a little help, but her string of horrible ex-boyfriends keep setting her back. First step: she's swearing off men forever. Or at least until she gets back on her feet.

Josh Maxwell got a second chance at life, and now he wants to help kids who are in the same situation he was in. His new job as the coordinator at a preschool for underprivileged kids is the perfect place to do that.

On paper, the school policy for staff not to get involved with the families of the students makes perfect sense. But when Bree meets the new coordinator of her son's school, she and Josh learn that some rules are made to be broken, no matter what the consequences.

EXCERPT
Josh accepted the paperwork but put it aside without looking at it. He smiled so easily, I didn’t think much of it when it was meant for Landon, but now it was all for me, and it was dangerous. My heart stuttered a couple times, confused by all the messages in my brain that were telling me it’s never gonna happen.
“Our goal at Head Start is to get kids ready to learn. We evaluate each student to make sure they’re in the best group and get them prepared to start school. We’ll have kids from a lot of different backgrounds, and they’ll all have different strengths, but the cool thing is they’ll usually work together and make each other better.”
“I like that approach. Do you teach at all?” He’d be great at it.
Josh shook his head. “No. I coordinate the programs and make sure they all go according to plan.”
“With a room full of four-year-olds?” I asked. “You must be new at this.”
“I am.” Josh laughed, running his hand through his hair and leaning forward, his voice hushed. “Don’t tell Landon this is my first time.”
I looked back at the boys and bit my lip. “I can’t make any promises.”
“I guess I’ll have to stay in your good graces.” Josh raised an eyebrow. “Do you have any other kids?”
“Oh God, no.” That sounded really bad. I laughed. “I didn’t mean it like that. But my hands are full with two.”
Everyone I knew who had two kids agreed with my theory. After the first baby, there was this euphoria. I made a human being inside my body. I managed to keep him alive for almost a year at that point. It was an invincible feeling. If I could do that, I could do anything, right? Including have another baby. But the level of difficulty when I added another child to the mix multiplied exponentially. And the finesse I needed to handle it didn’t come right away.
Josh nodded. “I get it.”
“Do you have any kids?” He wasn’t wearing a wedding ring, but then of course, neither was I.
He shook his head. “Just the sixty that will be here.”
“You look fantastic for having so many kids.” I giggled. Crap. I went from zero to flirt without even thinking about it.
“So do you.” My eyes widened, and he backpedaled. “I mean, for having two.”
“Thanks.” My cheeks flushed, and I looked back at the boys.
“Do you have any questions, Ms. Farrell?” Thankfully Josh was wrapping this up before we got ourselves in trouble.
“You can call me Bree.” I don’t think anyone had called me Ms. Farrell before. I thought about his question before I answered. I didn’t want to miss anything important and put Landon behind because I thought the school coordinator was hot. I had no idea how old he was. He didn’t seem that much older than me, yet his shit was so much more together than mine.
I wanted to know what made him tick.
“I do have a question, but it’s not about Landon. I’m starting school this semester, too, and I was wondering, how did you decide you wanted to do this?”

“That’s a great question, Bree.” Josh’s eyes lit up. “Maybe I could tell you about it over dinner?”

NEW RELEASE- LOVE KNOT

She's a homebody and he's an Irishman who doesn't like to be in one place very long.
When Robbie makes the decision to settle down, will Mimi believe him?

BLURB:
Mimi Cates is an artist who lives over the coffee shop she owns. Content with her life, she won't allow herself to become to close with her sexy, wanderlust neighbor, despite what her heart tells her.

Robbie Mac Donnell never wanted to stay in one place very long. His job as a scientist allowed him to travel the world without ever making permanent ties to anyone. However, when he finds the perfect person and the perfect place to settle down, he's not sure if she'll believe him.
EXCERPT:

Dressed in black jeans, black boots and black tank under a plaid shirt with hunky muscles peeking out; hot enough to make any woman with a pulse drool. His reddish blonde hair fashioned in the usual mess as if he just crawled out of bed. Dark brows arched over beautiful green eyes and those lips...so kissable.

Without saying a word, Robbie placed a box he carried as well as a highly polished apple onto the table and walked towards her. His hand slipped under her hair to cup the base of her head, while his other arm circled around her. When his lips came down on hers, Mimi had to grab onto him to keep from falling over in surprise.

Not a sweet kiss of friendship but an obvious promise of decadent pleasure. With a tilt of his head, Robbie took the kiss deeper. The scent of milled soap and masculinity made her heady. She could barely remember the last time he kissed her, not that she complained at the moment. Robbie slowly pulled away, tugging at her lip with his teeth as he did.

“Ah... welcome home?” She choked on the words.

Tuesday Teaser - The Real Saint Nic & Drea Becraft

Let's give a warm RWBB welcome to our guest today, Drea Becraft!  Yay!
Thank you so much for having me on your blog.

Tis the season…yes that’s right the Christmas season. I have most of my outside family already bought for but my children only a few things so far. I am so looking forward to seeing all the faces of my loved ones as they open their gifts.

Below is the info on my newest release The Real Saint Nic…ONLY $0.99...I hope it strikes your fancy.

Blurb:

Aimee’s life changed one night, not long ago, when she staked a vampire to save another. Still reeling from that life changing night, Aimee decides to go home with Brenda, her best friend, for the holidays. She never expected Brenda’s brother, who comes off more like the Grinch then Santa, to have so many saint like qualities. Years spent alone, with no family or friends, plays heavy on her mind but Nic could possible be the one who changes it all.

Christma has always been a sore spot for Nicolai. He’s the real saint Nic, but society has him all wrong. He’s no saint. In truth, he’s a vampire. Over the centuries, Nic has spent the holidays fighting off the ridicule from his younger brother and giving to those less fortune, not seeing his own worth. Until one mortal, brought home by his sister Brenda, changes the holiday and his outlook on life for eternity.

Is it possible that Nic has finally found his Mrs. Clause? When worlds meld, can Aimee find the happy ever after she once asked Santa for so many years ago, or is she doomed to spend forever lonely on Christmas?

Excerpt:

With a flick of his hand, the lights next to the bed turned on as did a few lamps across the room. Once my eyes adjusted, I got a better look at the amount of presents. Hundreds, littered the room. The only space not filled was around the bed and a path to two doors in opposite directions. Red, green, and golds splattered the room in a festive show of color.

“You really are Saint Nic.” Astonished I tried desperately to keep my mouth closed.

“Please don’t call me that.”

“Why not?” Turning away from the presents I turned my gaze to Nic’s in question.

“Because I’m nowhere near a saint.” Brows furrowing Nic stared intently at the computer screen.

“Then how did you get the name?”

“That would be Jaysen’s doing. One day, not to long after I started giving the gifts, we got into an argument. I don’t remember most of what was said, after all, it was quite a while ago, but I do remember the comment was rather snide. To this day neither of us knows how it ended up outside our argument, but it still reminds me of that comment. Besides saints are deemed so because of the greatness they do for mankind all I do is give a few toys to some kids.”

Moved by the noticeable hurt in his eyes, a relentless knot twisted in my stomach. Though I still didn’t know him, the connection between us grew with each passing moment.

Whether it was hormones or the fact that we were supposed to be mates, I didn’t know, but I couldn’t stand to see him sad.

I scooted out of the bed and made my way to him, wrapping paper shuffling under my feet. Then, as if it were the most natural thing to do, I lowered myself into his lap and hugged him close. “To those kids you are the world.”

“That’s why I do it every year. Though not in the grand scale that everyone thinks. I try to help at least a few orphanages and hospitals each year.”

“See, you are a saint. Every year you create the biggest rush of hope and joy to the children across the world. Though you can‘t help them all, the small sacrifices you have made over the centuries have helped to shape our world and helps friends and families learn the true meaning of giving. Without you there would be no hope of a perfect

Christmas. If that isn‘t the act of a saint, I don‘t know what is.”

With a grunt in my ear, Nic’s arms tightened around me as he buried his head in the hair between my shoulder blade and ear.

Pulling away slightly, I raised my hands and held of each side of his head. My fingers ran though the silken strands of his hair using that leverage I brought his head up until our eyes met. Leaning down I kissed his full lips with a slight brush of mine.

You are the best mate anyone could ask for. Speaking while our mouths were still fused, Nic sipped from my lips slowly.

"The Real Saint Nic is a hot holiday story with a difference. It tells the story of Aimee, a woman whose life changed when she staked one vampire to save another. The vampire she saved then became her best friend and benefactor and when Christmas rolls around, she goes home with Brenda, rather than spending it alone.

Aimee’s not expecting much, as she’s spent years alone with no family or friends, so when she meets Brenda’s family, she’s pleasantly surprised. Especially when she feels a spark of something between herself and Brenda’s brother, Nic. Something that can’t be ignored.

The Real Saint Nic tells the story of the growing bond between Aimee and Nic, and how this seemingly hard-hearted vampire in fact has a heart of gold. It’s a sweet and sexy tale, and despite some editing issues here and there, I really enjoyed it and would like to read more about these characters and what happens next."
