Fitness Friday - Girls' Nite Out Tip

I belong to a coffee club who occasionally meets at night for cocktails. We often discuss weight and fitness. We came up with a great tip to share!

If you know you'll be imbibing more than one drink, feel (and sip!) right by always ordering water between cocktails. You won't rack up sneaky liquid calories (and ruin your inhibition to resist those mozzarella sticks!). But your H20 doesn't have to be boring. Make it festive by ordering the sparkling variety with plenty of fruit, like a lime, lemon, and orange wedge in a martini or highball glass.

Meet Dark Soul Trevor Dillinger

Today is my baby's 17th birthday.
I often let him pick out the names for my characters, but once I let him name all the characters. The book is still WIP. Dark Soul is the 5th book of the Soul Series.

Please meet the character my son named after himself and helped me create.
Trevor Dillinger is a rock star with a dark secret pushing him into insanity. Since childhood he has dreamed of a beautiful green-eyed woman. The once lovely dreams eventually turn into nightmares. While on tour with his band, Dark Cloud, he refuses to sleep. Convinced she is real, he leaves his friends with determination to find her.

Thank you to my amazing son!

Happy Birthday, Trevor!

Host a Holiday Cookie Swap

Too busy to do much holiday baking?
Then host a cookie exchange party.

Invite your girlfriends over and tell each to bring at least 2 dozen cookies to sweet treats.  Have a table set aside with empty trays and let your guest place their treats on the trays. Make sure there are plenty of treats to sample and some holiday beverages.

Plan to have a couple "door prizes" such as a cookie cookbook, a pretty apron, or a cookie jar.  Before they leave they can pick out and take home as many cookies as they contributed.from the wonderful selection.

The Visionary was the signature cocktail served at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards

Ingredients
1.5 ounces Baileys® Original Irish Cream
3 ounces brewed Chai Tea
...
Raw brown sugar
Cinnamon stick

Directions:
Brew a pot of chai tea. Add 2 teaspoons of raw brown sugar for every cup. Stir until dissolved. Fill a coffee mug with chai tea and add Baileys. Stir with a cinnamon stick.

This recipe contains no more than 0.6 fl. oz. of alcohol per serving.

Offer this drink during a cookie exchange party with the girls.

Humpday Help - How 'bout somethin' sweet?

Ack! It's Humpday again! It's like a birthday... always sneaking up on me.
To me, some of the best things in life are chocolate, a great conversation, tea, and hugs. When a girlfriend lets you know you have chocolate on your mouth, you've been blessed with two pleasures - her company and some really good chocolate! Did you know that having tea with friends is also a great excuse to bake chocolate chip cookies?

So here's a little somethin' somethin' for my friends.

Indulge in the luxuries and whimsies of life and revel in the carefree delights of friendship.
