The Dalliance of the Eagles

I saw a bald eagle fly overhead today. I'm sure it was one of Dyami's relatives passing through. To see an eagle is always a good omen. The soaring beauty is our connection to the divine. I watched him fly from west to east; foretelling renewed life, rebirth and dawn. Our winter journey may not have even started, but hope remains and spring is on the other side.

The freedom and power of an eagle in flight is magnificent to see. A poem from Walt Whitman came to mind.

The Dalliance of the Eagles
Skirting the river road, (my forenoon walk, my rest)
Skyward in air a sudden muffled sound, the dalliance of the eagles,
The rushing amorous contact high in space together
The clinching interlocking claws, a living, fierce, gyrating wheel,
Four beating wings, two beaks, a swirling mass tight grappling,
In tumbling turning clustering loops, straight downward falling,
Till o'er the river pois'd, the twain yet one, a moment's lull,
A motionless still balance in the air, then parting, talons loosing,
Upward again on slow-firm pinions slanting, their separate diverse flight,
She hers, he his, pursuing.

Dyami Schafer, a Native American from the Chippewa tribe, leads a lonely life due to his large size and unusual appearance. When his nesting instinct sets in, he turns to Madame Eve and 1Night Stand to help him find his spirit mate. Or at least a woman who accepts him as an eagle shifter.

Amanda Collins never stopped loving the Chippewa boy she knew from her childhood. Maybe a night with a Native American man will help her forget the past and let her move on with her life.

Sometimes, it’s necessary to take a step into the past before dancing into the future. With the help of Madame Eve, will the Spirit of the Eagle carry Dyami and Amanda?

#SensualSaturday - Shower Scene from Eagle Dance

In today’s hectic life with busy schedules, it’s hard to find time for each other. Grab the moments when you can. Add a little romance to your life by taking a sensual shower with your honey. (I suggest finding a shower gel or soap you both enjoy and saving it for such an occasion.)

Please enjoy this shower scene from Eagle Dance.

“Damn!” His jaw dropped. She stood gloriously naked, water dripping from her hair into her face. Blonde strands plastered the skin of her shoulders above high breasts. The areolas were like large cherries begging to be plucked, and he had every intention of exploring each inch of her toned belly to the neatly trimmed fair hair at the junction of her thighs. He wanted her long, lean legs wrapped around his waist while she rode him into tomorrow. Blood drained from his brain and rushed to his cock again, and the need to taste and touch her everywhere forced his feet to move.

“Holy shit.” Her eyes grew wide as she gawked at his naked body. Stepping back, she let him slide under the water.

“Is something wrong?” Pleased with his effect on her, he smirked and placed his hands on his hips.

“I wondered what you looked like under all those clothes, but didn’t expect perfection. Wowza.”

He kept his body in peak physical form and secretly coveted her admiration. Moving her soapy hands over his body, she used the slipperiness to her advantage, setting him on fire. He reached out to pull her close for a kiss, but she moved back to skim over his shoulders, massage his neck then up and down his arms. She splayed her long fingers on his chest and across his abs and ribcage.

Even in the military, he’d never been so thoroughly inspected. His beauty knelt and massaged his thighs and calves. She soaped along his hips then cupped his balls and palmed his hard cock. Intense bliss suffused all parts of his body, especially the one in her grasp. Glancing down, he admired the scattering of freckles over her creamy skin. He almost fell out of the tub at the sight of the smooth curve of her backside. Amanda must have noticed her effect on him because she giggled softly. Continuing to stroke and pet him while she rose, she licked water off his belly and chest.

“You are too good to be real. You can’t be human.” With tiny kisses, she sucked droplets off his chin.

“I am.” Tempted to say more, he only chuckled. “Mostly.”

“I could have wild monkey sex with you all night.” she whispered against his lips and continued to stroke his cock.

Ikwe, that can be arranged, but I’d like to slow things down.” Closing his eyes, he focused on her touch.

#FlirtyFriday – 2 Scenes from Eagle Dance

It's Friday & time to put your flirt on!
No matter your age, flash your pearly whites and let your eyes do the talking. Flirt with your honey while making dinner or doing the dishes. Listen to some music and let the tunes inspire a quick dance in the kitchen. At night time, feel free to get a little creative.

Enjoy these two flirty scenes from my book Eagle Dance.

Scene 1
Definitely one delicious piece of man candy she couldn’t wait to unwrap. Amanda imagined what had to be well-defined pectorals and bulging biceps hiding under the heavy coat. If he had washboard abs, she’d jump at the chance to lick thick, warm chocolate-fudge topping off them. Hopefully one night with him would end her craving.

“Let’s get the pizza then head to the cabin.” He dropped the phone in a cup holder.

She spoke matter-of-factly. “We should pick up some chocolate or caramel syrup, too.”

He blinked sinfully long eyelashes and as the suggestive words sank in, he smirked. Leaning over the center console, he framed her cheek with one large hand. His eyes bore into hers as he took her mouth in a searing kiss that ended much too soon. “You got something planned for dessert?”

“Maybe.”

Scene 2
She wiggled her bottom then hopped off. “I like the way you rumba. Would you care to join me in a nice hot shower?”

“I most certainly would.” He stood and tugged on his jeans. “I’ll add some wood to the fire first.”

“Oh, honey, you already did that.” Purposely swaying her bare hips, she sashayed away.

“I don’t want the fire to go out.”

“Don’t worry about that.” She flipped her hair over her shoulder. “It won’t.”

“But it needs more stoking.”

“Oh, I love it when you talk dirty.”

The sound of his hearty burst of laughter followed her into the bathroom.

Sneak Peak Sunday - Eagle Dance Shifter Romance

Today's Sneak Peak comes from Eagle Dance
Book 2 in the Legend of the Spirit series.
Part of the 1 Night Stand Series by Decadent Publishing.

BLURB:

She brushed the gray tips and white strands of hair that gave him such untamed nobility. With a finger, she traced his face from his temple to his jaw, across his lips, then scraped her nails along the fine hair under his chin. A man of his enormous size would be capable of great strength, and a gal could easily lose herself in his arms for more than one night. His gaze intensified under her scrutiny.

“What do you see when you look at me?” he asked and lowered his eyes. Sinfully long lashes brushed his cheeks.

She considered him to be the most gorgeous man alive. His eyes mesmerized her. Some would consider the unusual color to be eerie, but she saw a whirlwind of emotions, from pain to hope, drawing her into his soul. Did his unusual appearance cause issues and uncertainty in his life? Despite his intimidating frame, he exhibited control and gentle qualities in the tender way he’d held her when they danced and the way he’d admitted his soft spot for animals. In arms like his, a woman could find paradise in many ways.

She cupped his face and forced him to meet her gaze. “I see a handsome, mystical warrior from another world.”

“Handsome, huh? I think you need your vision checked. I am nothing more than a simple Chippewa from Michigan.” His mouth was inches from hers. “However, I can be magical and take you wherever you want to go.”

“Then dance with me,” she whispered.

Once upon a spirit animal...

“Once a man opens himself to the Great Spirit, a guardian in the form of an animal spirit will be gifted upon him. When this awakening happens, the animal is a part of his soul. The spirit within the chosen gives the body the ability to shift from human to creature at will. The man must maintain control over the magical power and instinctive urges. However, it is most wise for the man listen to the animal’s wisdom. The spirit can sense good and evil as well as the man’s one true love, the mate for both man and beast.” – Indian Dave

Indian Dave rented the cottage next to ours and every summer he shared wonderful stories with me and my cousins around the evening bonfires. He taught us customs, legends, dances and the importance of the harmony between nature and the spirit world.

Animals and humans inhabit the physical world together. The spiritual world is made up of angles, archangels, departed loved ones and animal spirit guides (aka Totem Animals). All these beings help protect, educate heal and inspire us along our life path journey. Animal spirit guides choose their human and come into their life for a reason. The spirit animal will offer insight, power and guidance, helping them with their duties. In return the human honors the wisdom and knowledge the animal gifts upon him.

The tales Indian Dave wove during my childhood inspired the Native American heroes in my Legend of the Spirit series I've created for Decadent Publishing's 1 Night Stand series. In my book, Eagle Dance, I even mention Indian Dave and the summers spent at the cottage became the foundation upon which I built the story. I'm drawn toward the magic and mystery of a person having a spirit animal.

If you had a spirit animal, which do you think it would be?

Saturday Snippet

Today's little snippet comes from Eagle Dance, the 2nd book in the Legend of the Spirit series.

The rest of his story couldn’t be put into words. He dropped his own robe and knelt on the floor, facing away from her. Lowering his head, he folded his hands on his lap, exposing more than his naked backside. Her sharp gasp cut through his soul, and his spirit recoiled with dread.

“It’s huge and so detailed.” A long moment passed and, when her fingers touched the markings, his skin quivered and grew hot. “A little gory, but beautiful all the same.”

She traced the outline of the tattooed wings. Closing his eyes, he pictured what she saw. Black tendons from his shoulder blades gave way to feathers of various sizes used for flight. The inked wings arched up to his shoulders and down past his butt, to rest on his hips. His spirit animal calmed with her touch and hummed with pleasure.

Meet Dyami Schafer – Hero of Eagle Dance

One story produced a series…the Legend of the Spirit Series.
Native American shifters learn to follow their hearts to find love.

When I finished writing Crow Magic, a lovely story featuring a Shawnee Crow shifter named Tecumseh "Seth" Crowe, an eagle visited me.

The large bird sat on my porch railing looking me over with golden eyes and flexed his powerful talons. Through a mist the creature shifted into an incredibly sexy man. His eyes were the same gold as the eagles. His appearance dominated my porch but he moved in a graceful manner.

He stood tall with a naked barrel chest and when he turned I noticed a huge tattoo of wings covering his back from shoulders to under his waistband. Dressed in baggy jeans and worn boots he had a rugged sexiness. His black hair cut in a modified military crop looked like velvet. Spiked on top was white while the sides were tipped with grey.  I’d never seen anything like it. He ran his hands through the silky layers and explained like the eagle, his hair would change to white as he ages but he assured me he’s in the prime of his life. I couldn’t agree more. Wowza!

He flashed a quick smile but I was captivated with his golden eyes.

Dyami comes from a Chippewa tribe and is currently a Conservation Officer for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources in a secret division used to catch wildlife poachers. When he was a kid he spent his summers with relatives at their cottage on Coldwater Lake in Michigan. Even though his name means “EAGLE”, his uncle called him "Little Otter" because he would spend more time swimming than fishing. He still likes to fish but prefers dancing with a beautiful woman.

He is looking for a gal to live in his heart, warm his bed and love him for who/what he is. He loves to dance ladies! A friend told him to fill out an application for 1 Night Stand. He is seriously contemplating the idea.

Pick up Eagle Dance, 2nd story in the Legend of the Spirit Series,   to see what happens.

Sneak Peek Sunday - WIP Eagle Dance

Today's Sneak Peek is from a work in progress I am writing for the Decadent Publishing 1 Night Stand Series. It is part of a four book Native American shifter collection I am working on, Crow Magic being the first. I hope you enjoy this sample.
Dyami Shaffer an Chippewa Eagle shifter

Over a few beers he confided in a friend who listened while he celebrated his own pity party. Reaching his limit and fed up of women staring at him with fear or disgust, he needed to vent. His large size and dark Native American features didn’t help him find dates in the past. Women of his tribe whispered of his attributes and feared him. On top of everything, his nesting instinct unfortunately kicked in recently. He wanted a good woman who would accept and love him for the rest of his life. The buddy told him about the elite dating service, 1 Night Stand, where one night often led to a love match.  His spirit nurtured the seed of hope planted in his thoughts and persuaded him to fill out the paperwork for a blind date.

After months of waiting, he stood on his porch drinking his morning coffee when he saw a hawk fly overhead. His people considered hawks to be messengers. With an impatient heart, he checked his emails and discovered a message from Madame Eve.

Following a day of work, he drove almost 700 miles.  During the trip he fought poor weather and spent hours talking to himself to stay focused. He eventually gave in to weariness and spent the night in a cheap hotel along Interstate 80 planning to arrive at his destination with vim and vigor. Surely the lonely journey would not have been made in vain.

A plow rumbled on the road behind him creating large mounds of snow. The world grew white and cleansed in purity. Evergreens supported heavy boughs much like the weight he carried. The trunks of the giant firs stood strong, bearing the spirits of the earth. The crisp air filled his lungs. His spirit fluttered with hope.

He clasped the totem pendant he wore around his neck and closed his eyes. The small eagle mounted on an arrowhead represented his linage. The rough edges dug into his palm yet gave him comfort. In his culture some legends were true; such as those who are born with a totem animal or a spirit guide. His ancestors were blessed by the Great Spirit. In every generation one man would not only be born with a spirit animal who resides within one’s soul but also the gift of shifting from man to that of his animal.

Drawing from the strength of tribe, he prayed he made the right decision. The spirit of the eagle fluttered against his heart telling him to continue his journey. Since countless moments make a lifetime, a particular chain of them brought him to the place he needed to be.  Madame Eve found a woman who would accept his secret and dance with him. With confidence he climbed the steps to the main building of the Castillo Poconos Resort.
