#SneakPeekSunday - Crow Magic
Of all the people he’d met and the women he experienced intimately, she hypnotized him with her words. He lusted after not only her beauty but her soul, with the hesitant demeanor and even her wild hair separating her from all others. Beautiful organic shades of red and orange were revealed as the locks danced in the wind. Never had he seen hair like that before. So alive!
Her pale skin altered his opinion of the color white. He’d always considered the pallid shade boring. Her skin was that of an angel, light as the beach sand, smooth as milk and honey. He recognized the presence of the Water Spirit and noticed a calming of her aura. Her invitation to sit with her on the beach delighted him. He’d smelled magic in the blood he drew on her wrist. Her lovely eyes focused his attention on the eagerness of her soul yearning to be set free, stirring a longing obscured under personal responsibilities. His crow begged to claim her. Could it be possible she possessed a spirit animal akin to his own?
Because of her keen response to the bird, he predicted her reaction to the man would be more fervent. His cock grew hard, his palms itched to touch the milky skin and he hungered to taste her.
“You have been a mouse too long.” He whispered to the wind, “It is time to let the fiery angel fly. Trust me. Believe in me. I will show you how to soar.”
The crow within demanded to possess her. Mine.

Eagle Dance EXCERPT
She
brushed the gray tips and white strands of hair that gave him such untamed
nobility. With a finger, she traced his face from his temple to his jaw, across
his lips, then scraping her nails along the fine hair under his chin. A man of
his enormous size would be capable of great strength, and a gal could easily
lose herself in his arms for more than one night. His gaze intensified under
her scrutiny.
“What
do you see when you look at me?” he asked and lowered his eyes. Sinfully long
lashes brushed his cheeks.
She
considered him to be the most gorgeous man alive. His eyes mesmerized her. Some
would consider the unusual color to be eerie, but she saw a whirlwind of
emotions, from pain to hope, drawing her into his soul. Did his unusual
appearance cause issues and uncertainty in his life? Despite his intimidating
frame, he exhibited control and gentle qualities in the tender way he’d held
her when they danced and the way he’d admitted his soft spot for animals. In
arms like his, a woman could find paradise in many ways.
She
cupped his face and forced him to meet her gaze. “I see a handsome, mystical
warrior from another world.”
“Handsome,
huh? I think you need your vision checked. I am nothing more than a simple
Chippewa from Michigan.” His mouth was inches from hers. “However, I can be
magical and take you wherever you want to go.”
“Then
dance with me,” she whispered.

SNEAK PEEK SUNDAY - Handcuffs & Silk
Not only did he leave New York and his lover, but also a way of life. He’d gotten too comfortable being taken care of by others. Somewhere, he’d lost a part of himself. The need to stand on his own two feet crept to the surface.
After spending years practicing law on the East Coast, home felt strange. During the last year, his brothers had begged him to return and take his place in the family-owned law firm. As soon as he informed his brothers he’d come home, they began making living arrangements for him before he could change his mind. Not one to enjoy being alone, and looking forward to seeing his brothers, he arrived in town before the completed preparation of his new place. Hunter comfortably settled into a suite at the Castillo, the flagship hotel in an exquisite chain of luxury resorts and hotels.
A ding on his computer alerted him to a new email.
After neatly cleaning the sink and hanging his towels, he sat down to see what had arrived—an email from Madame Evangeline, owner of the dating service his oldest brother pushed him into using. Jason said a one-night stand with the right woman would cure what ailed him. Not really convinced a woman could fix whatever it was that ailed him, he hadn’t expected to receive a reply so soon, if at all. Somewhat apprehensive, he took a deep breath, opened the message, and quickly read the contents.
Mr. Mason,
I am pleased to let you know I have found a wonderful date for you this evening. I’m sorry it’s such short notice. Miss Stephanie Johnson is a lovely lady with the type of personality I’m sure you will find to your liking, and perfectly capable of fulfilling your current desires. I simply suggest you dress in black for the evening and present your date with a single, dark-red rose in the lounge at the Castillo at six o’clock.
Please enjoy the bottle of wine I have arranged to be delivered to your room.
Have a pleasurable evening,
Eve

Tasty Tuesday - Ignite the Flames of My Desire

A hostess quickly found them a discreet table. Hunter pulled the chair out for Steph. When he sat down, she reached across the table and with a beautiful smile, gave his arm a squeeze. A simple gesture causing his senses to wake. Images of placing food on that delicate tongue excited him.
“I’m new in town. What’s the best on the menu?”
“Well, you’re in the right place. If you like beef, they have the best filet mignon with a mushroom and wine sauce. Oh, and get the garlic and thyme-roasted asparagus to go with it. To die for.”
“Ignite-the-Flames-of-My-Desire Bananas Foster.”
“What?”
“That’s the name of the dessert.” Steph’s laugh rolled over him like a warm wave. “It’s rich with rum, creamy, and spicy with cinnamon. The waiter actually sets it on fire.”
“Hmmm... sensual.”
“Bananas, creamy, spicy, fire? Sensual? Sure.” She giggled then clamped a hand over her mouth. “Oh, shit!”
“What?”
“I never giggle. Why, I haven’t done that in years. I can’t believe it!”
“Maybe it’s the company you keep.” Hunter couldn’t help but chuckle.
1/4 cup butter
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup banana liqueur
4 firm bananas, cut in half lengthwise, then halved
1/4 cup dark rum
4 scoops vanilla ice cream
When the banana sections soften and begin to brown, carefully add the rum. Continue to cook the sauce until the rum is hot, then tip the pan slightly to ignite the rum. If you have an electric stove, add a match to the skillet, however, you might want to remove the skillet first, to an open area so the flames do not shoot up and hit something. (Keep a large metal lid on hand to cover the dish in case your flambé gets out of hand). When the flames subside, lift the bananas out of the pan and place four pieces over each portion of ice cream. Generously spoon warm sauce over the top of the ice cream and serve immediately; the warm sauce will quickly melt the ice cream. I had a hard time photographing this because the ice-cream melted so quickly.

A Little Afternoon Delight from Crow Magic
She took a deep breath and rose to the beauty of a new day and the possibilities of the coming evening. Sunlight dappled the floors of her cabin. Finding the long terry robe the resort supplied, she pulled it on then pulled back the cream-colored curtains to allow the morning radiance to enter and spread its cheerfulness. The delicate scent from the white roses in a vase on the nightstand mingled with the pine and cedar cabin. She picked up a card next to the flowers.
Lucy,
May you discover the magical power of the mountains and their crystal clear waters.
May the life force of the woods stir your soul.
May you learn from the spirit of the crow.
Tecumseh will help you fly if you believe in him.
Madame Eve
He had only one name. Not Bob, or Roger, but Tecumseh, and without doubt, Native American. Names held power and his name sounded powerful. What kind of person had the name Tecumseh? Was he a real man, a shaman or a spirit?
“Enough worrying about tonight, time to enjoy the day.” She adjusted the sheets of the Queen Ann bed and smoothed the antique quilt bright with turquoise and shades of fuchsia. An impressive painting of a floral meadow and a large tree near a lake hung on the wall and she made a mental note to explore outside to discover if the meadow was local. She gazed at the bed, wondering what the night would bring and shuddered with anticipation.

#SneakPeakSunday - Taming Rachel
Imagine you went to the same college as your brother and he held a strict bro code of not ever letting his friends near his sister. Imagine if one of them broke that code then broke your heart. Imagine seeing him ten years later at a class reunion.
Ten years had passed since their college graduation. Tired of the typical class reunion socializing, Rachel stepped into the shadows to sip her wine. To most people, being in a room containing several ex-lovers could be a bit of a downer, but enough time had passed and everyone greeted each other like old friends. The evening consisted of meeting spouses, seeing photos of children, and hearing about various occupational paths. Of course, gossip of divorces topped the conversations.
Some were using the opportunity to network for their
careers. The school district she worked for had made some drastic cuts, leaving
her jobless. All her belongings were in storage, and she lived out of a
suitcase while job hunting. Surely there had to be districts looking for an
innovative art teacher. A couple of classmates who held positions as principals
offered their business cards with the promise to accept her resume.
A loud shout drew her attention. Members of the championship
football team were honored guests at her class reunion. Gazing across one of
the finest rooms in the Vegas Castillo Hotel, she watched her twin brother,
Bill, ham it up with old friends. He wore a permanent smile as he laughed with
his long-lost, but not forgotten, teammates. She suspected after being blessed
with fatherhood and a job as a corporate lawyer, he didn’t see much of his
college buddies. With animated gestures, they were talking about the season of
fame. One fellow gently tossed the championship football with the players’
signatures to a couple of guys. What a rough and burly bunch they still were.
She loved her brother but often wondered if she’d made a
mistake going to the same college as him. During their four years, she enjoyed
the popularity that went along with being the star quarterback’s sister. She’d
tolerated the overbearing nature of her twin who criticized her choice of men,
even if she dated one of his close friends. Any man he pushed her toward never
seemed to satisfy her and became one more in a string of onenight stands.
Lucky for her, he stayed out of her love life after his
wedding. Most of the men she knew had married and settled into neat, scheduled
lives. So much had changed over time; once lean, vigorous bodies had given in
to the softness of sedimentary lifestyles revolving around their budding
families.
One man managed to still have his muscular physique and
remain as hot as ever; Dustin “Dusty” Stiles, the legendary linebacker who’d
led the team in tackles. Back in the day, the girls on campus considered him
the epitome of tall, dark, and hunky. From the stares he received as he walked
past them, they still deemed him so. He wore his black tie loosened around the
open collar of the white dress shirt tapering down to his narrow waist. Black
pants covered the world’s perfect butt and thighs. Polished Durango boots with
silver tips reflected his cowboy side.
Rachel had managed to dodge him all night. She’d evaded
everything regarding him for years. After college, she left Michigan and her
family to move to a small town in New York. She didn’t see much of her brother
and always avoided discussing news of his friends, especially after what
happened with Dusty after Bill’s wedding.
However, any thoughts of him usually accompanied a
self-induced orgasm. No other man she’d dated could compare to him. He pushed
her to sexual heights not reached since. She loved what he did to her and hated
how he used her. Memories of how she gave in to him time and time again still
generated pain in her heart. She missed his friendship, his dominant qualities,
and his magical touch. He haunted her.
Time had passed. According to the talk of the night, he’d
moved to Wyoming for work as an engineer on the wind turbines but ended up
making a fortune when oil was discovered on the property he bought. They were
different people now, but what if they still had that volatile magnetism
between them?
