Fall, Homecoming and Class Reunion

To me autumn means colorful landscapes and delcious food. The local orchard is running hayrides every weekend. A cup of fresh apple cider and a spiced doughnut are a treat at the the end of each ride. But before the tractors fire up their old engines, it's Friday Night Lights.

Last weekend was our town's homecoming.

For the last three years the Class of 2014 built their float at my house.

This year we hosted the Class of 2018. New faces, new names but just as much fun.

My eldest son graduated last spring and is now attending my college alma mater.

I am on campus this weekend to celebrate homecoming as well as my 25th class reunion. As I walk around campus there are many changes but a few things remain the same...the cafeterian food, school spirit, and the beauty of life-long friendships being made.

I have looked forward all year to reconnecting with several of my old friends who I laughed and cried with, as well as those who along with me pushed our creativity to limits from making banners to cheer on the team and planning the 1988 homecoming event.  Good times.

No, I'm not signing autographs, I'm filling out my "photo card" for the class pic.

Some of my classmates didn't know I write erotic romance.  What a shocker!  LOL

Am I inspired to write a "Reunion Romance"?

Friday Fitness - Love Your Shape

Fitness Friday doesn't promote strick diets or losing weight to become a skinny-minny. Healthy eatting and excersize leads to a balance between mind, body and spirit thus creating a healthier lifestyle. Couples can turn a walk or preparing a meal in to a romantic adveture.

Always remember, no matter what shape you are... love your shape.

Don't change who you are to impress someone else,
but simply live healthier and let your beauty shine!

#HumpDayHottie

In 2013, Firefighters were the favorite hero in romance novels.

Be sure to thank a firemanfor his hard work fighting fires, saving lives
and inspiring the imagination of many authors.

Tasty Tuesday - Spiked Mulled Cider

Many of you know I'm a Football Mom. My boys are Youth Football, High School Football and College Football. That's sitting outside weekday for pracitce plus games on the weekend. I've learned to dress in a kazillion layers but once the cold creeps into my bones there is no getting rid of it.

However...

I discovered a shot of Hot Damn schnapps in some mulled cider works wonders.
.

When making mulled cider use a hand held sieve to eliminate consuming the spices.

Single serving Spiked Mulled Cider:

Pour apple cider into a pot and simmer over low heat. Add clove, cinnamon stick and nutmeg. Float orange slices. Pour a shot of Hot Damn Schnapps into a mug before filling with the warm cider.

I found prepared mulling spices at my local market. After adding some to a pan, I add a few cups of cider and simmer over low heat. The longer you simmer the richer the flavor. Add a shot of Hot Damn or favorite fall schnapps to the mug before filling with the warm cider.

Easy Spiked Crockpot Cider for a crowd:

1/2 gallon apple cider
4 whole cinnamon sticks
8 whole Allspice Berries or Cloves
Orange peel or slices from 1 orange
(add lemon peel from one lemon during cold season)
 3/4 cup spiced rum
 1/2 cup Hot Damn
 1/2 cup Buttershots

Cook on high for one hour then switch to warm and serve.

For the best benifits
this hot beverage should be read while reading a steamy romance book
next to a cozy fire.

Fitness Friday - Tips from Tyler McPeak

This 6'3" hottie is featured on many fitness magazine covers.
I think Tyler McPeak would look rather nice on a romance novel.
What do you think?

Tyler McPeak is a Personal Trainer in Nashville whose passion is living the fitness lifestyle.  In his early days of training and modeling he developed an eating disorder. A happier, healthier man formed when he formed a connection between mind and body. He went from eating unhealthy food any time he wanted to highly nutritious meals several times a day. He set goals for himself and dedicated himself 100%.

Today, Tyler is a healthy, happy (and hot) guy who found a balance between mind and body.

The fitness lifestyle to me is not just about working out,
it’s also being in overall great health and enjoying life the way it’s meant to be enjoyed.”

It makes me physically and mentally feel better. Breeds self confidence and that breeds success!

Losing weight and getting into better shape is hard and creating healthy habits need to be worked into your every day routine. Tyler suggests setting realistic goals. Make a plan but also realize your goal won’t happen overnight. To live a healthy, fitness lifestyle means being consistent and dedicated. This determination is driven by the desire to change. Being healthy is important but if you want to change your body physically, you have to be willing to put in the work. However, don’t push yourself into depression or sickness. Learn to listen to your body and simply slow down when it tells you to slow down, rather than quitting.  Never underestimate the power of rest and recovery. Professional athletes treat their rest time just as important as their work outs. Always remember to embrace each day as a day bringing you closer to your final goal.

Tyler’s Tips:
1. Focus on proper nutrition
2. Perfect your form and master the mind/muscle connection
3. Be Patient!
